Maggie Barnes: Finding Inspiration, Courage & Fulfillment as an Artist
An interview from Artist’s & Graphic Designer’s Market, 2010, by Erika O’Connell
Maggie Barnes Bridges the Gap with Art and Music
An interview from What's Up Wyoming?, January 30, 2017, by Jeb Brack
ARTIST STATEMENT
"The inspiration to paint came years ago while grieving the death of a close friend. Although I had taken a few art classes in college, I had never painted before and was a bit surprised by my compelling desire to do so.
“Painting continues to offer me balance and relief. It allows me to accept and resolve things that seem chaotic and imperfect. It helps me find an authentic purpose, a harmonious arrangement to it all.
“The driving force behind my work these days is our spiritual reconnection with Mother Nature and Her gifts.”

Maggie paints from her studio at Loveland Arts Studios on Main and from her family hide-away in the beautiful hills of Kentucky that she shares with her husband Matt, their children Andrew and Suzanne, and their Australian shepherd Carson. An avid 'plein air' painter, she also chooses to make nature her studio as often as she can, wherever she may travel.
