Each of the paintings in the second part of the exhibit was created during a Dr. Dog sound-check before a live show.
There are no lyrics written on the canvas,
instead they were created alla prima, each one in about 2 hours, at a sound check.

At the exhibit, each painting will be displayed alongside a magnetic surface with  2" tall magnetic snippets of Dr. Dog lyrics.
Much like the refrigerator poetry idea, attendees will have the opportunity to splice together different

words and phrases from various Dr. Dog lyrics to create meaning around the painting.
This part of the exhibit is interactive.

At sound check they often practice just bits and pieces of songs,
snippets of their whole work, sometimes over and over again.

There are times when this is all we are given in our relationship with someone who has dementia.

If we take the initiative and engage with the information that is in front of us,
a new beauty and meaning with relationship can be created.
It is up to us to rearrange the snippets to have this interactive experience.

But WE must take the initiative and interact in order to create this opportunity.

All paintings will be available for purchase at the exhibit's final showing
(date and venue to be determined)
There will be a live streamed auction at the event where attendees, prior attendees and others will have the opportunity to bid online during for the artwork.
All proceeds from sales will be donated equally to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund and the I'm Still Here Foundation.

How we choose to respond to the life-altering diagnosis of Alzheimer's
has a profound effect on how it is experienced for everyone involved.
